O/L Passed Students get New School

The Education Ministry has introduced a new circular for the admission of students to A/L classes in government schools, Minister Bandula Gunawardena said.

He said this at a media conference held today (14) at the Ministry auditorium.

The terms of the circular are as follows:-

Students who have passed O/Ls with high results from rural schools without any 1 AB school  in their divisional secretariat area. ! AB schools are  ones withschools with A/L in the  Science, Arts and Commerce streams.
If there are vacancies after recruiting students under this category,  stduents who have obtained   high marks from schools which are not 1AB will be selected.
A detailed report should be given to Divisional Education Secretary or the Director of National Schools about the number of students under each stream and teachers who are subjected to them. Extract From Online Sunday Times

  1. Yeah, so much for the rural school students :P What are they suggesting for the international school students with high results? Why should they consider them different? After all, we are all children of the same country..
