Open University Student Stabbed to a Lecturer

A female lecturer Yashodara Kadirgamathambi of the Open University Law Faculty was in a critical condition after she was repeatedly stabbed by a law faculty student today morning.
She was admitted to a private hospital and later transferred to the national hospital while the suspect is being treated at the same hospital.

Police personnel arrived at the scene of the tragedy and control the situation.The victim is identified as Yashodara Kadirgamathambi, the Head of Law Department of the Open University.
Meanwhile, an Open University student, who is also a doctor, was arrested in connection with the incident, police said.
Mirihana police said the suspect student was admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital after he swallowed some tablets.

It was revealed that the student alleged to have stabbed the lecturer after she refused to accept his Law assignment which he handed over after the due date.

කළුබෝවිල රෝහලෙන් ජාතික රෝහලට මාරු කළ කථිකාචාර්යවරියට සැත්කමක් සිදු කළ බව රෝහල කියයි.සිහිසුන්ව කළුබෝවිල රෝහලේ ප්රතිකාර ලබන නීති ශිෂ් ශිවඥානසුන්දරම් සුරේන්ද්රජිත් ලබන දෙවැනිදා තෙක් රිමාන්ඩ් කරන ලෙස නුගේගොඩ වැඩබලන මහේස්ත්රාත් තිස්ස විජේරත්න මහතා නියෝග කළේය.
නීති උපාධිය සඳහා වන ව්යාපෘතියක් නිසි වේලාවට භාර නුදුන් සිද්ධියක් මත ශිෂ්යයකු නාවල විවෘත විශ්ව විද්යාලයයේ ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ කථිකාචාර්යවරියකට පිහියෙන් අනින්නට ඇතැයි පොලිසිය කියයි.

එම ශිෂ්යයා පෙතිවර්ගයක් ශරීර ගත වී කළුබෝවිල රෝහලට ඇතුළු කරනු ලැබූහ. Extracted from Lankadeepa
