Sri Lanka Higher Education Ministry has launched a new web site about University Leadership Training Program 2012. 
Through logging this web site students can check whether they have selected for the First Batch which scheduled to start December 27 to January 12, 2013.

The University leadership training programme for Sri Lankan students who have qualified to enter University for the 2011/2012 academic year will commence on December 27, 2012 media reports.
The programme is scheduled to start at 25 Army Camps islandwide, according to the Higher Education Ministry Director General of Students affairs Keerthi Mawella.

Federation of University Teachers’ Associations (FUTA) had finally informed them that they would submit their proposals from next year and this time the program could go as scheduled.According to the media reports Program has reduced from three weeks to two week.

The Leadership Training Program 2012 for Sri Lankan University students would be delayed said the President of the Federation of University Teachers’ Associations (FUTA) Dr. Nirmal Ranjith Devasiri.

The Minister S.B. Dissanayake promised to conduct a wide discussion before starting the leadership training program this year and the program would delayed as scheduled November 15 he further said.

A Special discussion held yesterday between Higher Education Minister and FUTA officials regarding the issues of leadership training program for 2011/2012 academic year. 


The Sri Lankan Higher Education Ministry will seek the university academics' and Vice Chancellors' views on the on-going leadership training program. The ministry will make appropriate changes to the leadership program in accordance with the proposals and ideas of the academics and the VCs.
