Hope this will address your concerns about transparency and security to some extent. For others who want more security we are in the process of opening a trust account at the Public Trustee Department. Information about that account will be communicated as soon as it is open.

All funds deposited in the A/C no. 74274950 under O.Siriwardhana and M.H.Palkumbura was transferred to the new Bank of CeYLON account yesterday evening. The account is still open and funds can be deposited in it as well. However, we would prefer the use of the new account as of now for the sake of transparency and clarity.

Your concerns will be taken into account if you direct it to us through this page or by other means.
Thank you for all your support once again!

W.K Achala Priyadarshani's left hand was amputated on the 22nd January 2013 at the General Hospital, Colombo. She is currently a Final Year student at the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo. She was left-handed and it was this hand that was amputated.
Achala was admitted to the Matara Hospital on 17th January 2013 for a fracture. Due to the negligence of the medical staff of the Matara hospital when bandaging her arm for the FRACTURE. Due to the tight binding of the bandage, the blood circulation to her arm ceased, which fatally damaged the nerves in her left arm. Consequently she was transferred to the General Hospital, Colombo where her left arm was amputated.
This is one example of medical negligence that occurs frequently in state-paid hospitals.

Achala is the only member of her family to enter university. Her mother is a housemaid in Lebanon while her father and brother have no proper employemt. She was the only hope of her family in order for them to overcome their many economic hardships.
Achala's batchmates are organizing a fund-raising campaign to get a prostheitic hand for Achala.
Please assist us in collecting the required amount by donating to A/C no. 74274950
of Bank of Ceylon, Visakha Branch (Code No. 775) in the name of O. Siriwardhana or M.H Palkumbura.
