Class Suspension for Peradeniya University Students Council President

Students of Peradeniya University commenced a continuous ‘Sathyagraha demanding authorities to allow students to continue the Allied Health Science courses without them being slashed.

විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය තුළ දිගින් දිගටම සිදුකෙරෙන ශිෂ්‍ය මර්දනයට සහ සිසුන්ට බලපාන අසාධාරණ පරිපාලනමය තීරණවලට එරෙහිව හඬනැගීමේ වරදට පේරාදෙණිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ මහා ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයේ සභාපති දිමුතු ගුණසේකර මහතාගේ ශිෂ්‍යභාවය අත්හිටුවීමට එහි පාලනාධිකාරිය විසින් පියවර ගෙන තිබේ.

සමසෞඛ්‍ය විද්‍යා උපාධි පාඨමාලවන්හි අධ්‍යයන කාලය වසර හතරක සිට වසර තුනක් දක්වා කප්පාදු කිරීමේ අසාධාරණ තීරණයට එරෙහිව මහා ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයේ මූලිකත්වයෙන් පසුගිය23 වැනිදා සිට පේරාදෙණිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය ඉදිරිපිටදී එහි සිසූහු අඛණ්ඩ සත්‍යග‍්‍රහයක් ආරම්භ කළ කළහ. ඒ වෙනුවෙන් සිසුන් විශ්වවිද්‍යාල භූමිය තුළ ඉදිකළ විරෝධතා පුවරු, කළුකොඩි ඇතුළු සැරසිලි 22 වැනි දින රාත‍්‍රියේදී කිසියම් පිරිසක් විසින් විනාශකර දමා තිබූ බවත් එම සිසූහු පවසති.

සිසුන් විසින් නැවතත් එම සැරසිලි ඉදිකළද 23 වැනි දින රාත‍්‍රියේදී හා ඊයේ (26) දහවල් කාලයේදී ආරක්ෂක අංශය විසින් එම සැරසිලි ඉවත්කරන බව දැකගැනීමට හැකිවූ නිසා මහා ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයේ සභාපතිවරයා ඇතුළු ඒ වනවිට විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය තුළ රැඳී සිටි සිසුන් ඊට එරෙහිව දැඩි ලෙස විරෝධය දක්වා තිබේ.

ආසන්නතම සිදුවීම ලෙස මෙම සිදුවීම පදනම්කොටගෙන සභාපතිවරයාගේ ශිෂ්‍යභාවය අත්හිටුවා ඇති බවත්, ශිෂ්‍යභාවය අහෝසි කිරීම හකුළා ගන්නාතුරු කවර ආකාරයේ මර්දනයක් හමුවේ වුවද ඉදිරියේදී දැඩි ශිෂ්‍ය කි‍්‍රයාමාර්ග ගන්නා බව පේරාදෙණිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ මහා ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමය අවධාරණය කරසිටියි.

A/L Re-Correction (Re-Scrutiny) Applications 2015 / 2016

Applications for Re correction, re-scrutinizing of G.C.E A/L answer scripts will be accepted until 2nd of next month (2 nd February 2016).

Commissioner General of Examinations says that students could apply for the re- scrutinizing of G.C.E A/L answer scripts until 02nd of next month.

Application forms in this regard have been forwarded to the principals of schools along with result sheets. 

Private applicants should prepare their applications according to the model application that will be published in the national newspapers on Thursday. The Commissioner General requests to call 1911 if someone wish to obtain more information on the GCE A/Level results.

A/L Re-Correction (Re-Scrutiny) Applications Procedures

 

Step 1: Applicant obtains a sample application form a national newspaper.

Step 2: Based on the sample application, applicant prepares and fills Re-scrutiny form.

Step 3: Applicant goes to the post office and makes payments via money order

Step 4: Applicant then attaches the receipt to the application that is to be posted to the Department of Examinations.

Step 5: Application is posted to the Department of Examination

Step 6: The Department receives and processes the application

Step 7: The Department would then issue the Re-scrutinized results based on the application.

Note:

If the Applicant is a school candidate, the application should be forwarded through the school principal.

Rates for Payments:

GCE Ordinary Level - Rs. 100.00 per Subject

GCE Advanced Level - Rs. 150.00 per Subject

Application forms will be available soon after the Department of Examinations publishes them on National newspapers.

Submission of the Application Form

Applications must be submitted before the dead line stated in the newspaper advertisement

If the application form has not been filled accordingly or if the receipt has not been attached the applicant will be disqualified.

The re-scrutiny results of GCE Advanced Level (A/L) examination to be released to www.doenets.lk  Web Site.

University Ragging Sri Lanka- 3 Pera Campus Students guilty for ragging Freshers

Three students of the Peradeniya University who pleaded guilty to ragging a new student were given a suspended sentence of six months rigorous imprisonment.

The Kandy Provincial High Court suspended the sentence for five years after which the three students will serve six month sentences while compensation will also be paid to the victim.

The students were convicted of ragging the victim on or during October 26 and 27, 2011 while six allegations were brought forward against them including forcing the victim to perform sexual acts. Extracted from :adaderana
