The 2013 Z score cut off marks,university entrance application and handbook for the 2013/2014 academic year will be issued after releasing the re-scrutinized A/Level results 2013.
University Grant Commission UGC Chairperson Prof. Kshanika Hirimburegama says that students who have passed GCE A/Level examination 2013 will be admitted to universities by August and September 2014.

awaited, Minimum Z-scores based on the GCE (A/L) Examination in 2012 released today evening says UGC and can be accessed through the following
modes.
Z score cut off marks released to the official websites www.ugc.ac.lk and www.admissions.ugc.ac.lk .
Information can be received by the hotline 1919 from tomorrow or
contacting the UGC for below Telephone Numbers 0112695301, 0112695302,
0112692357, 0112678731
UGC has first time introduced to get Cut off marks via sending a Short
Message Service (SMS) from your mobile phone.This facility will available from
tomorrow.
You can Check Z score by SMS to 1919 from tomorrow

The Z score Cut off marks will be published in national newspapers
including “Dinamina”. Also
2012/2013 විශ්වවිද්යාලවලට ඇතුළත් කිරීම සඳහා අවශ්ය අවම ඉසඩ් ලකුණු අද(08) නිකුත් කෙරෙන අතර දුරකථන ඇමතුමකින් හෝ කෙටි පණිවුඩ (SMS) මගින්ද තමන් තේරී ඇති පාඨමාලාව ගැන දැන ගැනීමට විශ්වවිද්යාල ප්රතිපාදන කොමිෂන්සභාව(UGC) මෙවර මුල් වරට පහසුකම් සලසා ඇත.

The Z Score Cut off marks for the

November 10) reliable source told Lanka University News. There will be a media briefing
today evening at the UGC and we will update the exact date.

Earlier Sri Lanka University Grants
Commission (UGC) Chairperson Prof Kshanika Hirimburegama told Lanka University
News that Cut
off marks will be released in Early November.
Sri Lanka University Leadership
training program for the 2012/2013 academic year will be started November 25.
The relevant acknowledgement letters
to be posted Next week. About 8000 students will
undergo the leadership training program in the First batch. Name list of
the Students who have been selected for the 1st batch will be
released to the Web site next week. www.leadership.mohe.gov.lk is the official
Web Site for the Leadership Training Program. Selected Name list will be
uploaded to http://pop.nodes.lk/mohesys/
Web link.
The
First Session will be started from November 25 to December 16.
Second
Session will be started from December 21 to January 11, 2014.
Third Session will be
started from January 28 2014 to February 18.
Commonwealth Heads of
Government Meeting will be held in Colombo from November 10-17. The leadership
and positive attitude development training program is scheduled to be launched
in three sessions at 22 Army camps islandwide last week of November.
"UGC have received lot
of applications and now at the final stage of processing them. The exact date
of releasing the cut off marks will be informed in the near future, leadership
training program will be held after releasing the Cut Off mark and after CHOGM.
" Prof Kshanika Hirimburegama said.
The cut off marks are based
on the 2012 GCE Advanced Level results. The UGC hopes to admit 23,125 students

new academic year will delay.

The Z Score Cut off marks

The cut off marks are based
on the 2012 GCE Advanced Level results. The new academic year is scheduled to
start in December this year. The UGC hopes to admit 23,125 students for 94
courses.
"We have received over
75,000 applications and are processing them. The exact date of releasing the
cut off marks will be informed in the near future," she said.
Z Score Cut
off marks for university admissions will be announced this October. The Cut off Marks will be released to www.ugc.ac.lk official UGC web site.
Some Universities are
conducting aptitude and practical tests in addition to basic qualifications.
The date of such tests will be published in newspapers.

Last year in rathnapura distric,76 engineering students were selected.only 9 thrid shy studnts were in that 76..in 2010 only 8 third shy students were selected.that's not true dude..they are giving more chance to the new sylubs.they should.old sylubus students have only 22 merit from mathz stream .

I think the ideal person to contact regarding this matter is Additional secretary Mr. Premakumara. He is the one who's in charge of university admissions. I don't know for sure if this will help because none of those morons seem to give a crap. But we simply can't do nothing and wait, right guys??

If they had a slightest interest in taking us, at least in next january, they should have started leadership training by now and, they should release Cut-offs before this month as they've said earlier. But what do they say now?? "It will take atleast 2 more months". They don't even give a exact date, which means they're not sure if they'll release it even after 2months. Deletethe total amount they selected for the course in 2011 from new sylabus and old syllabus. slight population changes are there so for district quota its more or less the same amount..... eg: if in 2011, 50 were taken total for engineering from DISTRICT quota only, then this time also 45 (new syllabus) + 5(old syllabus) will be taken fr district quota. total amt taken from rathnapura depends on the merits for that district too. eg if 10 merits are there for new syllabus 45 + 10 wil be the total amt from that district.

Deletewhat is ur district rank? i'm on the margin line too. so i've done some calculations. The district quota for new syllabus in colombo will be approximately 64 (total 76). Rest depends on the island merits. I heard around 400 - 412 will be taken from new syllabus island merits.

Delete412 is the projected intake for new syllabus island merits (assuming they will admit 1220 local students as mentioned in the handbook). But that never happens, because they allocate few seats for the special intake, foreign intake.. etc. So the actual number for local students under normal intake will be less than 1220, so the island merits. However it won't be any less than 400.

DeleteApparently UGC chairman is lying. What she said earlier is october first week.. then she said the end of october or november first week, which we are counting on now.. Probably next, she'll say it's going to be delayed furthermore!!! I'm really disappointed.. Don't these people have a conscience at all? :( :(
DeleteIn this case too, Prof. Hiriburegama, being an reputed educationist, has to take decisions according to the directives given by the Ministry of Higher Education headed by another administrator. This problem had to be well identified or foreseen by these administrators and resolved before launching the new syllabus in May 2009.
DeleteAnother new syllabus is now under implementation since May 2012 in our schools. Do these administrators have the solution for the university entrance problem to be emerged in 2015 for our 2014 AL exam passing students?
Therefore, who is there to take responsibility for grievances of our unnecessarily aging AL students.

ReplyDeletewhat is this misfortune for us? we have to wait and wait. The due dates are close for cutoff marks. They lied once telling that they would give them on october.. please don't lie this time too.... and they say they'll start universities in march 2014... Are you doing this for us because we get it as a free education?? your children may having all the luxuries and studying abroad without any matter.. But we, children of ordinary sri lankan families can't afford them.. so Do we have to suffer to get our right to be educated in government universities???? No one is there to hear our grievances... Fed up with this eduaction system.
