IUSF Anthare Protest march Colombo - 8 Students Injured


8 University students hospitalized after the brutal attack by police yesterday to the IUSF Protest march. It is reported that 7 policemen also admitted to the hospital.

Despite the Tear Gas and Water cannon attacks University students are still protesting near Temple Tree. Galle Road is closed from Kollupitiya to Galle face roundabout.
About 4000 campus students are marching towards UGC Colombo against new government silence over their grievances said IUSF Media spokesperson Haritha to "Lanka University News".
"We are dissapointed about present governments education privatization and even they have cut the Mahapola"
"Still they have not taken any measure to increase the proposed 6% GDP for education" he said.
"If we have time today we are planning to go to Colombo Fort and protest there he further said.
Inter University Students Federation IUSF “ Anthare” has organized a protest march Today noon (31) in Colombo. 

Protest will be starting at about 12 noon from University of Sri Jayewardenepura Campus, Nugegoda. Still they are not decided the destination and it may be UGC Ward place Colombo.

Students are protesting against New government education privatization. "Lanka University News"  will be updating about the rally time to time via this website. We hope this rally will create a huge traffic Jam in Colombo !
