All arrangements have been made to commence the university students’ Leadership and Positive Attitude Development program on December 27 despite the prevailing weather condition in the country Higher Education Ministry Director General (Student Affairs) Keerthi Mawellage told the LankaUniversity-News.

The university students’ leadership training program for the first batch would be commencing from December 27, 2012 to January 12, 2013.
The University leadership training program is not a compulsory but it is a very important training to students. There was a very positive response from the students who attended the last year leadership training program.
Some students who participated in last year program told to LankaUniversity-News that the program was an unforgettable experience and described it as a special privilege provided by the Sri Lankan Government to evaluate their future plans to pursue higher education with a university oriented mindset.
A certificate will be awarded to every university students participated to the program and the certificate will be vital for university admission and future interviews Keerthi Mawellage further said.
The names of students selected for the second batch will be available after January first week at www.leadership.mohe.gov.lk web site. The program for the second batch will be commenced on January 16 to February 01.
The Program duration has been reduced to two weeks. Measures have also been taken to reduce the physical training exercise program. Accordingly, the morning physical training program has been compact.
Measures have already been taken to increase the interval period between training periods and to assign university lecturers as much as possible to conduct lectures which had been earlier conducted by Army instructors he added.
The Leadership Training Program has made a tremendous impact on university entrants during the past few years. Students have much-admired the Government for providing a systematic training to develop their personalities.

The Higher Education Ministry has allocated over Rs.100 million to provide food, transport and T-shirts to the university entrants who take part in this training program.
A two -week training program of this nature would cost a student around Rs. 50,000. The program provides systematic training to youth in psychological, physical, health, sports and fitness training exercises. It would educate youth on solving problems in a scientific manner and improving their mental and physical condition.
The Ministry formulated this program to provide systematic training to help make a mentally and physically-fit university student.

    1. First, Higher Education Ministry Officials told they are going to release Cut-Off Mark, End of December,but now they are going to release it January Second Week.

      At the same time please consider this training as a great opportunity for you to develop your own leadership skills and team work which is considered as the key to be a successful leader in the future. We want all of you to become dynamic, effective, creative, visionary leaders of this country to make Sri Lanka one of the leading nations in Asia soon.

  3. Is it going to be a big issue if any of us can not take part in this program due to unavoidable personal reasons and we couldn't inform the ministry? Would that affect in university entrance in any way?

  4. I've selected for 2nd batch to participate leadership program.But I haven't received the letter for it yet by mail.What can I do for it? Can I participate without the letter?

  6. how ever we stay at home from 18 months after 2011 a/l, can anyone take responsible for it?
    when we can go to university?
    when we can get our degree?
    when we can get job?

  10. Is that 3rd batch name list correct? Plz rpy. when I enter my NIC number I received "The searched National Identity Card number is not found. Please check the number and search again." this msg. bt last time i got don't worry, you'll select for the next batch. why this time I got this kind of msg?
