* Mahela Jayewardene & Kumar Sangakkara faced Ice Bucket Challenge today and released the video. Thy challenge Angelo Mathews.
* Hirunika Premachandra has accepted Malsha kumaranatunge's Ice Bucket Challenge and posted a video. She has challenged Harin Fernando, Senel Welgama & Lal Kantha.
Sri Lanka Cricket Legend Mahela Jayawardene has accepted Otara Gunewardene's Challenge.
As promised Otara Gunewardene faced the  Ice Bucket Challenge and released the Video. She has nominated Mahela Jayewardene,Kumara Sangakkara,Sameera Reddy and Malik Fernando.

It is reported that Hirunika Premachandra has accepted Malsha kumaranatunge's Ice Bucket Challenge.She has mentioned this on her Face Book Page. Also Thanuja Jayewardene has accepted the Iraja Weeraratne's Challenge but will do it later as she is suffering from bad headache.

Ice Bucket Challenge is now very popular among Sri Lankans too. First Iraj Weeraratne joined the campaign accepting Big Reeno's challenge. Iraja released a You Tube video and nominated Otara Gunewardene,Malsha Kumaranatunge & Thanuja Jayawardana. Big Harsha also faced to this challenge.Then Malsha Kumaranatunge accepted Iraj’s challenge and faced it. Malsha has nominated President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Hirunika Premachandra and Mervin Silva. It is reported that Hirunika Premachandra has accepted Malsha's challenge. Also Thanuja Jayewardene has accepted the Challenge but will do it with Iraj later as she is suffering from bad headache.

What is Ice Bucket Challenge??

The Ice Bucket Challenge, sometimes called the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, is an activity involving dumping a bucket of ice water on one's head or donating to the ALS Association in the United States. It went viral throughout social media during the Northern Hemisphere summer of 2014.
The challenge dares nominated participants to be filmed having a bucket of ice water poured on their heads. A common stipulation is that nominated people have 24 hours to comply or forfeit by way of a charitable financial donation.

පසුගිය ජුලි 15 වනදා “ice bucket challenge”  වැඩසටහන ඇරඹි අතර එය ආරම්භ කළේ ඇමරිකානු ගොල්ෆ් ක්‍රීඩයෙක් විසින්. “ice bucket challenge” හි නීති පද්ධතියට අනුව මුලින්ම අභියෝගය භාරගෙන අයිස් වතුර බාල්දියකින් නාන පුද්ගලයා පැය 24 ක් තුළ තවත් පුද්ගලයෙකු නම් කළයුතු වෙයි. එලෙස පුද්ගලයෙකු නම් කිරීමට හෝ එම අයිස් වතුරෙන් නෑමේ අභියෝගය සම්පුර්ණ කරගැනීමට නොහැති වුවහොත් එම පුද්ගලයා විසින් ස්නායු රෝගී අරමුදලට ඩොලර් 100 ක මුදලක් තැන්පත් කල යුතු වෙයි.එම “ice bucket challenge” එක සම්පුර්ණ කර තමන් විසින්ම (අයිස් වතුර බාල්දියකින් නාගෙන ) එය යු ටියුබ් වීඩියෝවක් ලෙස පළ කර පැය 24 ක් තුළ මීළග අභියෝගකරුවා නම් කළ හොත් එම පුද්ගලයා පෙර කී අරමුදලට ඩොලර් 10 ක් යොමු කළ යුතුය.


With the challenge going viral around the world, the craze when to its next level when celebrities like Bill Gates, Justin Bieber, Mark Zuckerberg and Christiano Ronaldo joined in to support spreading awareness about ALS, also known as motor neurone disease or Lou Gherig’s disease.
