Jaffna University Students released-Sri Lanka

Seven students of Jaffna University have been released yesterday  (December 09). 
Sri Lankan police arrested ten students last week following clashes that erupted during a protest on November 28 after students commemorated LTTE Heroes' Day (Martyr’s Day). 

5 Students from Medical faculty, 2 students from Science faculty has been released this regard. Earlier 1 student was released after being produced before Courts.


Vice Chancellor hold special discussion with TID officials on releasing students of arts and Management faculties.
Dean of the Medical Faculty Professor .S.Balakumar and the Dean of the Management Faculty professor T.Velnambi met TID officials at Vavuniya last evening. During the time of meeting TID officials promised to release all these students.  


Since November 29, all the academic activities was at standstill  and would commence once the students returned.
