QS University ranking and Times Higher Education ranking are the renowned standard ranking scales which take academic quality into account.

ReplyDeleteThat's why we want to implement private foreign universities here, these buffalo headed students of Government universities protesting against implementing private universities in Sri Lanka. They're in fear that if the country increase the number of degree holders, they may loose the job market, of course they will, because, they're just fuckards .. with a cheap government degree given for free ..

DeleteYou can't debate on universities like that. Both government and private degrees are good. what if a student who goes to an international school does a foreign syllabus other than the local syllabus willing to do a degree in sri lanka. Therefore establishing standard private universities in sri lanka is a good thing in a way and of course those who have passed A/Ls with flying colours are the best one at that stage. But it depends on their capabilities.most of them don't perform well in A/L examination due to many reasons. That doesn't mean they are idiots sometimes they perform well and get good jobs than people who have done A/Ls well. And some prefer to get a private degree even though they are eligible to go to a state university. so it all depends and has two sides.
