Chairperson of the Commission, Professor Kshanika Hirimburegama noted that the applications will be accepted until May 19. Chairperson of University Grants Commission, Professor Kshanika Hiriburegama revealed following details.
“When filling the application, it is essential that the instructions are properly read and that the correct course that the student intends to follow, is written. Because, sometimes, students come back later asking if the course could be changed. So, this cannot be done unless there is a vacancy. “
She further stated: “Some of these courses require a practical examination as well as an aptitude test. So, these examinations will be conducted at the respective universities. And if you fail to qualify the aptitude test, you will not be eligible to undertake that particular course regardless of the Z-score.”
The commission noted that the handbook could be purchased from book stores countrywide. They added that May 19 will be the due date to submit all applications.
The form should be filled carefully and all courses that the candidate qualifies should be mentioned according to his or her preference and sent to the University Grants Commission.
UGC have added several new courses to the new university entrance handbook.

ReplyDeleteI did 2014 A/L in bio stream. I was district first. But my island rank was 29. After the exam I checked all mcq answers and essay answers. According to them I should get highest marks. I roughly calculated my z score using most probable previous data. so, I surely know I should get at least more than 2.85.... But i have got 2.5074 as my z score. But my friends in other districts have got really good island ranks though they had done so many mistakes in mcqs and essays. My parents, friends, and all the teachers were confused when they heard my result. Not only that I am also really depressed. Will I get a relief after recorrections? I applied for recorrections for all three subjects.please, Do you know about anyone who got such a change?
