SB says students barking up the wrong tree
The Higher Education Ministry had no objections to the restoration of
the course term of Allied Health Sciences degree programme to four years. It
was the Government Medical officers Association (GMOA) that wanted its period
reduced, Higher Education Minister S.B. Dissanayake said in Kandy yesterday
(21).
සම සෞඛ්‍ය උපාධි පාඨමාලාව වසර 4 ක උපාධි පාඨමාලාවක් ලෙස ක්‍රියාත්මක වෙමින් තිබියදී එය වසර තුනක කාලයකට කප්පාදු කිරීමට එරෙහිව අන්තර් විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය ශිෂ්‍ය බලමණ්ඩලය ආරම්භ කල සත්‍යග්‍රහ තුනම අද දවසේදී ද ක්‍රියාත්මක කෙරිණ.
පේරාදෙණිය ගලහා හන්දියේ සත්‍යග්‍රහයට අදට දින 120 කි, ගාල්ල නගරයේ සත්‍යග්‍රහයට අදට දින 112කි, කොළඹ කොටුවේ සත්‍යග්‍රහයට අදට දින 27 කි.
In a statement to the media,
Higher Education Minister Dissanayake said ‘instead of holding ‘upawasa’ on
public roads the students should hold protests in front of the top officials of
the GMOA. If it is necessary we, too, can extend support to such action."
Minister Dissanayake said the
court had already given an order with regard to action of the students. If the
students wanted to revoke the court order they should go before higher courts
and if the Higher Education Ministry was called to give evidence, the ministry
would support the claim of the students.
The issue was being complicated
by the intervention of the JVP and its breakaway ‘Peratugami Party’, Minister
Dissanayake said.

සම සෞඛ්‍ය උපාධි පාඨමාලාව කප්පාදු කිරීමට අදාළව තීරණයක් ගැනීමේ පැහැදිලි හැකියාවක් විශ්වවිද්‍යාලා ප්‍රතිපාදන කොමිෂන් සභාවට හා උසස් අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍යාංශයට හැකියාව ඇත. නමුත් මේ වන තෙක් අදාළ ප්‍රශ්නයට කිසිඳු විසඳුමක් නොදී බලධාරීන් විවිධ පාර්ශව වෙත චෝදනා එල්ල කරමින් සිටි. පුදුමයට කාරණය නම් කලින් කලට මෙසේ චෝදනා එල්ල කරන පාර්ශවය වෙනස් වීමය. මෙසේ මෙරට නායකයා, අධ්‍යාපන බලධාරීන් මෙම ගැටලුව විසඳීමට උත්සාහ නොකරන්නේ , සම සෞඛ්‍ය උපාධි කප්පාදුවට හේතුව එම උපාධිය ද මුදලට විකිණීමට අවශ්‍ය පසුබිම නිර්මාණය කිරීම වීමය. ඒ මෙරට ආණ්ඩුවේ අධ්‍යාපන ප්‍රතිපත්තිය වන අධ්‍යාපනය විකිණීම ක්‍රියාත්මක කෙරෙන එක අවස්ථාවකි.
ඒ අනුව සම සෞඛ්‍ය සිසුන්ට අලුත් අවුරුදු දවසේ මහ පාරේ සත්‍යග්‍රහ කරන්නට සිදු විය.
